In my capacity as Regional Political and Economic Manager, I have expertly forged and nurtured strategic relationships to drive policy advocacy across multiple government levels. My keen understanding of the interplay between personal dynamics and policy has guided my detailed stakeholder mappings, enabling effective influence within African political and economic spheres. My pivotal role facilitated the Australia-Kenya Memorandum of Understanding and directed a $AUD 1.5 million funding initiative enhancing human rights in East Africa, boosting Australia’s diplomatic and humanitarian impact.

As a strategic advisor at the Australian High Commission in Nairobi, I have addressed policy implementation challenges with evidence-based advisories that significantly influenced Australia’s stance on East Africa. My insights were crucial in shaping Kenya's energy white paper and advancing the Kenya-US Free Trade Agreement. Through rigorous research and legislative tracking, I have secured $AUD 1.5 million for human rights and increased stakeholder engagement by 80%, with my work receiving ministerial-level accolades.

Local Context Expertise
My role at the Australian High Commission in Nairobi has been marked by a deep understanding of the local context, which I have leveraged to influence policy and humanitarian strategies effectively. I have developed a network of local experts and utilized advanced data visualization tools like Power BI to guide significant funding and improve policy decision-making. This engagement has led to an 18% increase in the accuracy of political outcome predictions, enhancing Australia’s regional influence.

Known for robust implementation and efficiency, I have led strategic initiatives at the Australian High Commission and GLOCEPS, significantly boosting policy impact. Adopting the Kaizen philosophy, my management approach has improved system efficiencies and fostered team collaboration, resulting in an 18% improvement in political outcome predictions and a 16-hour reduction in weekly research time.

Communication and Representation
My extensive experience in hosting and moderating policy discussions has strengthened organizational brand and influence, increasing stakeholder engagement by 80% and event attendance by 30%. I have developed and executed strategic communications plans that secured over $200,000 in funding, enhancing our institutional visibility by 46% and improving the effectiveness of our political strategies.

Leadership
At GLOCEPS, I have had the opportunity to lead 4 researchers working on foreign policy research. The management and my peers have equally entrusted me with additional responsibility beyond the foreign policy pillar, which allowed me to lead several multi-disciplinary research on security, development and governance-related issues. At the Australian High Commission, I have managed 8 locally-engaged policy section staff, who cover, research, development programs, humanitarian programs, events, public diplomacy and protocol.

Monitoring and Evaluation
I have extensive experience in risk assessment, monitoring and evaluation of donor-funded projects, funded by the Australian Government to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, World Food Program and Oxfam. I have jointly worked with the policy team in drafting end-term reports, evaluating the implementation of $AUD 90 million directed towards famine, drought and flood relief in the Horn of Africa, covering WASH, nutrition and protection programs in Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Uganda, Sudan and Burundi. I have a broad understanding of the donor world and have made representation for Australia in UN donor and humanitarian working groups. I have also monitored development projects funded under the Australian Direct Aid Program and Australia NGO cooperation program in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania, focusing on education, health, women empowerment and human rights.
