On any given week, I might be advising on AI adoption trends in East Africa, writing an intelligence brief on piracy in the Western Indian Ocean, mapping the outbreak of Ebola or Marburg in the Great Lakes region or analyzing how the Middle East conflict is quietly reshaping regional fuel, food and fertilizer supply chains in East Africa. That is not a lack of focus. That is what geopolitical reality actually looks like for governments, missions, and organizations trying to make consequential decisions in a fast-moving world.
I am a geopolitical strategist and researcher director specializing in East and the Horn of Africa. For over 12 years, I have translated complex political, security, and economic dynamics into intelligence that reaches ministers, heads of mission, and executive leadership. I have overseen risk assessments on portfolios exceeding $100M, built programs from scratch where no playbook existed, and introduced AI-driven systems for media monitoring and stakeholder mapping that changed how teams work – not just what they produce.
When my analysis of Anti-Homosexuality legislation across East Africa directly shaped $1.5M in Australian funding support for regional NGOs, it was a reminder of something I carry into every assignment: good intelligence, clearly communicated, moves money and policy.
What sets me apart is the combination: I hold a PhD in International Relations, but I am not an ivory tower academic. I have worked on humanitarian crises, diplomatic missions and policy think tanks. I build the frameworks. I also get my hands dirty in the data.
I do not wait for problems to become emergencies. I build the early warning systems, the scenario plans, and the institutional knowledge that mean organizations are rarely caught off guard.
